Installation & skinning problem

Oct 27, 2009 at 10:39 AM

After 3 attempts to install the DNNSyntaxHighlighter I found that the Resources-SyntaxHighlighter.zip file was not being installed. After doing a manual unzip to the intended FCK subfolder, I succeeded in getting the SyntaxHighlighter icon to appear on the FCK toolbar. I haven't investigated further to figure out if there a syntax problem in the DNN file when processing multiple resource files, if it's a DNN 5.1.4 problem or it's just a problem with my installation. I'm first trying to get all the way through an install and then I'll go back and take a closer look at it.

Meanwhile, I need to figure out the skinning (step 4 of the instructions). Using a clean DNN 5.1.4 install with the DNNSyntaxHighlighter skin object installed, in what file would the code in step 4 of the instructions be placed?

I have just upload V2 of the skin object.

1. Please let me know if it installs both resource files now for you?

2. You add the "step 4" code directly to you "skin file".

Let me know how you go.

I couldn't get step 4 to work, but I found a workaround.

  1. Open Default.aspx file in your DotNetNuke installation folder
  2. Paste the following before the </head> tag:

    <link href='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/styles/shCore.css' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'/>
    <link href='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/styles/shThemeDefault.css' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'/>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shCore.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shBrushCSharp.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shBrushCss.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shBrushJScript.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shBrushPhp.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shBrushSql.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/shBrushVb.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script src='http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/current/scripts/shBrushXml.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
    <script language='javascript'>
		    SyntaxHighlighter.config.bloggerMode = true;
		    SyntaxHighlighter.config.clipboardSwf = 'http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.1.364/scripts/clipboard.swf';
		    SyntaxHighlighter.all();
		    </script>

That should fix it.
